Building acoustics design

At Healthy Buildings we have over 14 years experience in building acoustic design. We can provide comprehensive acoustic design consultancy for small and large scale architectural projects, both new and refurbished, throughout RIBA design stages 1-5.

3D noise modelling of noise

Using industry-standard software, we can build 3D models of external noise from sources such air, road, or rail traffic, industrial or commercial facilities. These models calculate noise levels generated by these sources and predict levels at the facades of new or existing buildings or in sensitive external spaces such as gardens. Using the results of the models, we can determine any requirements for facade sound insulation and provide external glazing specification.

Construction acoustic support

At Healthy Buildings, we don't just design on paper, we really help those designs get built to standard. We can provide consultancy support during construction, with regular site visits, testing, and review of drawings and other specifications, as well as junction and penetration detailing to achieve acoustic design requirements. 

Open plan office acoustics

We have specialist experience in measuring, modelling and specifying remedial measures for improving the acoustic comfort in open plan offices, focusing on speech intelligibility, spatial decay of sound, distraction distance, and reverberation.
